UBC Engineering Open House: learn how engineers save the world

Find out how engineers save the world at UBC Engineering Open House on November 29, 9am-3pm, in the Fred Kaiser Building.

Mechanical Engineering will have our undergraduate lab in Kaiser 1180 and our machine shop in Kaiser 1190 open starting at 10am. Come in to see what we do in MECH2, the Formula 1 Racing Team showcasing their car on our dynamometer, Charlie the PR2 robot (who will be handing out water bottles), the Thunderbots team demoing their robots, an experiment called “Jeep Roll Over! Watch out, Barbie and Ken,” the only working natural gas engine in Canada, what machines we have in our machine shop, and other examples of what equipment is used during mechanical engineering labs.

We will also have a booth in the main atrium in the Fred Kaiser atrium at 9am, so make sure to come by and say hello (and pick up some free swag)!
