Hire a Student

Mech 45X

One of the ways for industry to get involved with the Department and support the academic and professional developement of our students is through our Mech 45X Capstone Design program. You propose a design contract, and a student team will create a finished project and prototype for your company. Students are in their final year, and are usually monitored by a faculty advisor and mentored by a practicing Professional Engineer from industry. See the Mech 45X pages to find out more about the program and how to put together a proposal.

Co-op

The co-op program is another great way to connect industry with current students, with participating students alternating between academic terms and relevant work in industry. The Engineering Co-op program at UBC includes hundreds of highly skilled students who are interested in bridging their academic knowledge to real-world problems. See the Engineering Co-op website for more information.
