Department Mentoring Program

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has instituted both a general mentorship program and a teaching mentorship program.  The goal of these programs is to provide assistance to new faculty to improve their career success and to build on our strong and collegial environment within the department.

The mentoring programs are available for all new and joining faculty and run for a 1 year period.  The program recommends a minimum of two meetings in the fall and two meetings in the spring.  The first fall meeting is a Department of Mechanical Engineering organized session (lunch) where a facilitator will meet with all mentoring pairs and review what sort of topics, activities, discussions would be beneficial.  The responsibility for ensuring that further meetings occur lie with both members of the pair.
