Full Time Student Definitions

The availability of lots of things, such as student loans and housing depend on the full time status of the student. One thing that students may not realize is that the definition of what a full time student is changes depending on who you ask.

The list here defines the full time student definitions of some of the organizations that may be important to MECH students. Note that this is only meant as a guide, please follow the links, talk to advisors at Brock Hall, or contact the organization in question to confirm your status.

UBC Applied Science

In the Faculty of Applied Science, to be considered a full time student you must take at least 80% of the credits that a student in your program and year would normally take. As an example, normally a third year mechanical student in the Biomedical option would take 40 credits, to be considered a full time student they would have to take 32 credits of coursework.
