Two Mechanical Engineering Teaching Assistants, Mahsa Khalili and Masoud Malakoutian, have been recognized with a Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for the 2019/2020 year. This award recognizes their outstanding work and contributions to undergraduate learning at UBC. Malakoutian is a Mechanical Engineering PhD student, while Khalili is pursuing her doctorate in Biomedical Engineering. Each year, only sixteen out of over two thousand TAs across the University are awarded this distinction, which comes with prize of $1000 each and a certificate. This year, Mechanical Engineering is one of only a few departments to have two TAs awarded a Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant award — exemplifying the high quality undergraduate learning environment Mechanical Engineering seeks to provide, of which our Teaching Assistants are an integral part.
The Department congratulates Ms. Khalili and Mr. Malakoutian on your achievements, and thanks you for your contributions to teaching excellence at Mechanical Engineering and UBC.
