Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral students by supporting students who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields. Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and international students are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier Scholarship, which is valued at $50,000 per year for up to three years.
Application deadline: 12 noon (PDT – Vancouver time) on Thursday, 3 September 2020.
The application is completed online on ResearchNet: https://www.researchnet-recherchenet.ca/rnr16/LoginServlet
Note:
- In addition to completing the application on ResearchNet, applicants are required to submit official transcripts and Doctoral Studies Timeline form to admissions@mech.ubc.ca by the above deadline. Please refer to the “Application Procedures” section from the below link for more information about the requirements.
- Given current uncertainties related to COVID-19 and the difficulty of obtaining/processing paper transcripts, it is recommended that applicants order official transcripts that can be sent electronically from their previous institutions to UBC, rather than by mail, where possible.
- New requirement for 2020: Vanier requires applicants to submit a Doctoral Studies Timeline form (submitted to the UBC graduate program). Please see our webpage for more information.
