Call for Applications: TELUS Graduate Fellowship on Telecommunications Policy – Deadline: Jan 31, 2022

Applications are open for the Telus Graduate Fellowship on Telecommunications Policy. The objective of the Fellowship is to support excellence in public policy research and develop leadership and expertise within Canada on issues of telecommunications policy. The Fellowship will support graduate students who wish to undertake independent, innovative research on issues related to telecommunications policy.

Criteria:

  • Students must be enrolled in a graduate-level Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution during the 2021-2022 academic year
  • The Fellowship requires successful award winners to submit a research paper of publishable quality on an aspect of telecommunications policy
  • The Fellowship is open to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents

The graduate fellowship will award $7,500 to up to 5 graduate students who have an interest in pursuing telecommunication policy research. The award will support excellence in scholarship and advance emerging thinking in areas of telecommunications policy.  In 2021-2022, Telus is particularly interested in areas related to spectrum policy, 5G and bridging digital divides, as well as to research of a comparative nature. However, there are many facets to telecommunication policy and the committee will consider candidates submitting proposals in any area of applied telecommunications policy relevant to Canadians.
