Connect to Community Grant

Centre for Community Engaged Learning is calling for committed and passionate undergraduate and graduate students who have projects they want to implement in their communities to apply for the Connect to Community Grant ($200 – $1,500 awards). Deadline to apply is Friday, October 28, 2022.

Chapman and Innovation Grant

The Chapman and Innovation Grant ($1,500 – $10,000 awards) will begin accepted applications Nov 7, 2022 through February 7, 2023.

Students do not need to have a project idea fully developed yet. CCEL is happy to support you through the ideation process.

Information Session (Virtual)

Friday, October 14, 12:00 – 1:00 PM PDT

This session will review how to build a strong project case and put a grant application together. Bring your ideas and questions! CCEL looks forward to connecting and supporting UBC students through the grant application process.

What can the grants fund?

Examples include (and are not limited to):

  • A project that students were involved in as part of a course-based or volunteer placement, or with a community organization they are already connected to,
  • Developing and hosting workshops based on the community’s interests and needs,
  • Supporting an existing community-directed initiative: e.g., communications campaign, program, special event,
  • New ideas are always welcome!

Funds can cover material costs, travel, printing costs, space rentals, catering, speaker fees, and other relevant project requirements. If there are questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jacquie Kwok at jacquie.kwok@ubc.ca.
