Indigenous Scholars Awards and Supplements Pilot Initiative (NSERC and SSHRC)
The Indigenous Scholars Awards and Supplements Pilot Initiative consist of a one-year, non-renewable supplement valued at $5,000 for all meritorious Indigenous CGS M applicants (in addition to the standard $17,500 CGSM offer), to the limit of available funding. If you self-identify as Indigenous you are eligible to apply for this initiative.
In the CGSM application portal, interested applicant must select “Indigenous Scholars Award and Supplement Pilot Initiative” in the drop-down menu in the “Supplements/Joint Initiatives” section of the CGSM application form, under the “social sciences and/or humanities” or “natural sciences and engineering” field of research. Applicants must also submit a personal statement. The pilot webpage has more details.
As CGSM does not permit any edits to applications once they are submitted, interested applicants must complete the above task before they submit their CGSM application in CGSM’s application portal. It is not possible for an applicant to add this information later after they have submitted their CGSM application.
Note: CIHR is not participating in this initiative.
