To support UBC’s social distancing protocols, many Mechanical Engineering employees are working remotely. While our Administrative and Student Services Office spaces are closed, both offices are fully available online. Our Machine Shop and Electronics Shop are also providing online services.  Please email us with your query!

Machine Shop

The Machine Shop is accepting support machining jobs for research and teaching.  To access these services, please use the online submission form.

Electronics Shop

The Electronics Shop has limited contact hours at the moment. Equipment can be signed in and out, components can be purchased, etc. at the following times:

  •  10 AM – 4 PM on Thursday
  • All other days by appointment

Drop-ins are not allowed. Email prior to arrival so equipment can be ready for pickup in order to limit contact time. You can also contact staff directly:
