The UBC team defeated 6 others from universities across Canada and Europe in this category to win a grand prize of $4,800.

The Consulting competition required teams of four to analyze an industry problem along with relevant field data to create a solution and devise a plan for its implementation. These results were delivered in a report to a judging panel as well as a presentation to the general audience and judges.

The IEC was organized by the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students, who partnered with the Board of European Students of Technology and the USA’s National Association of Engineering Student Councils and was sponsored by Shell International.

The UBC team would like to recognize IEC’s organizing committee, including current UBC students and alumni Nicholas Blanchet, Sean Heisler, Vicki Pistner and Eric Pospisil.
