Project Description

This position involves the experimental study of free surface liquid jet impingement on a moving surface. We have previously studied the impingement of a Newtonian cylindrical liquid jet on a moving surface. We would now like to study non-Newtonian cylindrical liquid jet impingement and/or two-dimensional (planar) liquid jet impingement.


Special requirements (department, GPA, specific courses, year level, skills)

Third or fourth year standing in MECH or CHBE. Experimental experience important. Familiarity with design and production of simple mechanical devices. Experience connecting transducers to LABview also an asset.

Position duration: May 1 – August 31, 2024

Total pay including award: $11,000 (based full period above, to be adjusted if actual start or end date differs).
