Awards Ceremony
On graduation day, UBC Mechanical Engineering recognized our student’s achievements with a pre-convocation reception and awards ceremony, where soon-to-be graduates had the opportunity to mingle with professors, classmates and family before their ceremony at the Chan Centre. Fall is when many graduates in advanced studies receive their degrees, and the reception celebrated the achievements of our graduating PhD, MASc, MEng and BASc students, gathering for cake and congratulations in the room where many had proved their new expertise through their master’s and doctoral defences.
On behalf of the Department, Associate Head of Teaching, Professor Boris Stoeber and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Adjunct Professor Dan McGreer recognized exceptional achievements by our graduating class with awards for academic and design excellence.

These awards recognize outstanding graduate students who have excelled academically throughout their degrees, achieving an overall average above 90 percent.

Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Design Award
