About Peter Jackson

A leader in maritime and tech, Peter’s journey exemplifies commitment. Starting with a Mechanical and Marine Engineering diploma from Durban University of Technology, he began at Safmarine and later rose to Chief Engineer. At Seaspan, he climbed from Chief Engineer to Vice President, furthered his education with an MBA from Middlesex University, and explored tech as CEO of Stage 3 Systems. Now back at Seaspan since 2020, Peter helms initiatives like the 70 Ship Newbuild Program, highlighting innovation and sustainability.

Dr. Bull is not only an accomplished lecturer at the Sauder School of Business but also a beacon in sustainability, innovation, and strategy. Having earned his BA in International Relations and PhD in Wood Science from UBC, his passion lies in comparing environmental footprints of various value chains. Beyond academia, he’s a mentor-scientist at the Creative Destruction Lab Climate stream and a board member with the Tla’amin Nation. His rich consulting background includes strategizing for Lyft’s Canadian sustainability, enhancing industry-First Nations relationships in BC and Alberta, and guiding IKEA’s global sustainable procurement.
