Our guest speakers include:
- Assistant Professor Mauricio Ponga has calculated the molecular bond between a SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and human cell receptor using computer modelling.
- Undergraduate Faheem Saeed is working with fellow students to design the Tusk respirator, which they hope to be a completely transparent face mask offering full eye and breathing protection.
- Ph.D. student Sam Berryman participated in UBC’s FlowO2 team which developed a low-cost respirator out of a BiPAP machine as part of the Code Life Ventilator Challenge.
- Alumnus Nicholas Hui is an entrepreneur who co-founded MedMe Health, a unique software platform helping pharmacies book COVID-19 tests in Alberta.
Please RSVP below to receive the Zoom link. While we wish we could gather for a networking portion of the evening as we normally would, the first 50 alumni to RSVP (delivery to Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, and Port Moody only) can sign up to receive a snack-sized individual cheese and charcuterie or vegan harvest platter from Lazy Gourmet, to enjoy a piece of our usual reception while we are all socially distanced. We will also have several door prize draws open to our alumni watching from any location!
