Job Title: Engineering Technician
Reports To: Director of Engineering

Purpose/Role: The Engineering Technician assists all levels of Engineers with their tasks and assignments, from conceptual design work to protocol development. This individual should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the mechanical / manufacturing engineering field.

Position Description:

  • Work with and assist engineers on various projects and tasks.
  • Performs equipment services and maintenances using hand-tools, power tools, measuring devices, and
    knowledge of manufacturers’ manuals, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide technical support to production by troubleshooting various non-conformances through the nonconformance
    reporting process.
  • Devise test protocols and write reports related to equipment to verify and validate design and design
    changes.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Minimum high school diploma and a combination of applicable education and experience.
  • Technical diploma in a related discipline preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years experience in fabrication and prototype development and/or manufacturing environment desired.

Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word / MS Excel / Outlook)
  • Knowledge of CAD / CAM systems desirable.
  • Hands on experience with machines and tools.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle many different tasks.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
