Fourth Year Mech Student Wins Dillon Consulting Ltd. Scholarship

Andrea Palmer, one of our fourth-year Mechanical Engineering students, won the Dillon Consulting Ltd. Undergraduate Women in Engineering Scholarship for the 2014/15 school year. Congratulations, Andrea!

“Palmer has been team captain as well as the technical lead of the autonomous soccer-playing robot team, the UBC Thunderbots. This past year, she served as President of the Engineering Undergraduate Society and has been involved with Engineers without Borders as a Fair Trade Liaison. In the greater UBC community she has acted as a MUG leader and hosted an Imagine Day Meet the Dean session, all designed to encourage new students at UBC. Palmer is also an ambassador for women in engineering. She is a student co-ordinator for the Women in Engineering program, helping to mentor and support female engineers throughout their time at UBC.”[1]
